One should avoid using mastic. Many tile people use it because it is really easy and sets up fast. it doesn't do a good job holding tiles and homeowners looking at missing wall tiles are the proof. Instead, one should use thinset and the tiles will not fall off years down the road. When a wood backer is used as a substrate, the wood must be sealed using a sealer such as Kiltz2. Unfinished or painted wood won't work well. Also, Weldbond dissolves when it gets wet so it shouldn't be used around water or for the outside. Your wall hanging looks nice! Your daughter in law did a nice job on it. This site used to have many advantages over FB pages. One such advantage is the visible listing of chats/topics. On FB pages, you may never know what you missed being away unless you are subscribed or following the person. Some years ago, the Admin here changed the game and as you can see when viewing the Chat Page, he erases the older topics making it less attractive to be here. I do post some pictures on private FB pages and sometimes here as well.
